This year marks 25 years for the 1,120 acre research park and in this time it has achieved a worldwide reputation as a campus filled with students, faculty, and partners collaborating, innovating, and creating a highly competive work force.

Lead Designer for James B Hunt Jr. Library Wins Europe's Most Prestigious Architecture Prize
Snøhetta, the lead designer for North Carolina State University's planned James B Hunt Jr. Library, has been honored with the 2009 Mies van der Rohe Award, Europe's most prized award for architectural excellence. Also known as the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture, the honor was awarded for the design of the National Opera House in Oslo, Norway, the largest cultural center built in the country in 700 years.
First Look at the Hunt Library
The James B. Hunt Jr. Library became a little more real in mid April as University officials had their first look at potential designs for the new heart and soul of the Centennial Campus. It's still early in the process, but this News and Observer story explains more about the space that, as one trustee put it, "will set us apart from every campus in the country."
